City walk in Frederiksværk: Time in history - gunpowder, bullets and cannons
There is no contradiction between good stories and good exercise. The museum, therefore, invites you on a 3-hour walk - on a tour of the history of local Denmark.
We start by looking at Gjethuset and hearing about the military and civilian production in the 250-year-old foundry.
Then we go up Sandskåret and take the stairs with 74 steps (!) Up on Krudttårnsbakken, from where you in clear weather can enjoy the view over Halsnæs and designate Krudtværket and other landmarks in the landscape and get an impression of Stålvalseværket's colossal size.
The trip continues along the forest path to Norske Bakke, wherein Classen's time, there was a bell, which every morning called the workers to the workshops. The hospital is passed on the road that leads us further along the canal past Brohuset and Arresødal castle to Arresø.
On the way home, the route goes through the park before ending back in Frederiksværk by the Arsenal and Major General Classen's iconic test cannon.
Please note that you must be well-walking and wear sensible footwear to participate.
