Drifting Woods | Exhibition at Munkeruphus

The autumn exhibition, Drifting Woods, is a travelling exhibition created by Pia Rönicke and is a branching and cinematic installation where stories from the northern forest are retold.

The exhibition Drifting Woods at Munkeruphus moves between the forest as a historical document and a depiction of the future.

In connection with the exhibition, artist and sci-fi author Kristian Byskov is invited to be a co-narrator in the form of a written contribution that both figures as independent work and at the same time infiltrate Rönicke's work.

The travelling exhibition Drifting Woods was shown in Sweden in 2021 at Gävle Konstcentrum, the former forest museum Silvanum, which is linked with Munkeruphus' former resident Gunnar Aagaard Andersen, who between 1957-62, designed all exhibitions at Silvanum.
