Hillerød Slotssø Dage | Town Festival
Hillerød has, as something unique, a castle lake with a castle in the middle of the city. So when a town party is held, activities on and by Slotssøen naturally play a specific role. You can come to Denmark's Most Beautiful Rowing Competition on the castle lake.
Expect an entertaining regatta in historic longboats, a large food market for all taste buds and beliefs and lots of music and family-friendly entertainment with among other things amusement park.
Historic longboats in a regatta on the lake
One of the highlights is a regatta with historic longboats, on Castle Lake. A travalje is a rather heavy, open workboat, which was part of the equipment on the warships in the 18th - 19th centuries. Companies, associations, political parties and civic teams are challenging each other in the beautiful boats about winning the prestigious price - good entertainment for the cheering spectators on the lakeshore. In the evening, there is a big dining get-together where everyone can participate.
Food market for all tastes
At Posen, the city park on the lakeshore, there is a large Food Court packed with food stalls. Enjoy all kinds of meals, from vegan food and spicy Indian food to hot dogs. Also, taste and buy locally produced organic goods for your preparation.
It's for children
The town festival is very much for children and Sunday will be busy with special family activities. Participate in the children's races around Castle Lake or try pony trekking in the park.
The festival gathers the town
The activities gather around the town centre, the park, the pedestrian streets, SlotsArkaderne shopping mall, the Market Square and not least the Castle Lake.
