The exhibition presents the best contributions from the large annual competition, PORTRAIT NOW! Carlsberg Foundation Portrait Prize
Every other year, the Frederiksborg Museum of National History holds a large portrait competition, PORTRAIT NOW!. This year, artists from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland have submitted their interpretations of portraying a person through portrait art. All media are welcome, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations, and films. An international jury selects from the submitted works and awards several prizes.
