If you pop by at the right time, you can even see talented artists in action. Little ones and other playful souls can see live fish at the harbour's pat-a fish platform, catch crabs, or burn off energy at the fun nature playground.

There are many events and activities in Hundested Harbour during the summer months, including the special cultural attraction Hundested Sand Sculpture Festival, where international sand sculptors, including several world champions, create world-class monumental and transitory sculptures from golden grains of sand.

Be sure to take the opportunity to walk down to the harbour basin, where you can see the expedition ship Kivioq, used by polar explorer Knud Rasmussen on his last expedition to Greenland. North Sealand's little yellow train runs to Hundested Harbour, which is super convenient!

Visit the charming street: Kajgaden

Kajgaden, the popular and charming pedestrian shopping street at Hundested Harbour, is home to many of the town's local design boutiques and working workshops.

One of the traditional fishermen's cottages is home to the contemporary art gallery 'Artisteri'. Internationally renowned illustrator Andrea Ucini, whose work includes pieces for the New York Times and the Washington Post, works and exhibits here.

Also, visit the cute Cookie Home for clothing for all ages and seasons. The shop's owner specialises in good quality at great prices and, besides clothes, also sells glittering jewellery and beautiful homeware.

If you crave a perfect cup of coffee, stop by Det Lille Kafferisteri, which is a roastery, coffee bar and shop all under one roof. The coffee bar roasts several times a week, and all the coffee is of superior quality and organic. On the shelves, you will also find an exclusive selection of brewing equipment and other coffee goodies.

When you enter Kajgaden you will find the beautiful Galleri Nord, which specializes in jewellery art, made from nature's finest materials and exciting bags made from sails and tarpaulins.

It is also Kajgaden where the entrance to the Sand Sculpture Festival is. Here, in addition to looking at the beautiful and breathtaking sand sculptures, you can also sit down in the café and enjoy lunch or a good cup of coffee.

If you have forgotten your sunglasses at home or the glasses break, then make your way past Havnens Optik, which is located in the middle of Kajgaden and is next door to the Sand Sculpture Festival. At Heidi, you get the latest in glasses, sunglasses and vision equipment.

Just opposite the eyewear store is Butik På Den Anden Side. Here you can shop for clothes, jewellery, shoes, bags and accessories.

If you need a gift or just a snap for your lunch, make your way past Schumacher´s Hundested. Here you can buy both Hundested Gin and a Hundested Dram Number One. You can taste before you buy, so you come home with the perfect gin, dram or brandy.

Among the fishing cottages in Kajgaden, you will also find the garden centre Barfods Have, where gardener, Anja Barfod, is ready with tips for the summerhouse garden and an exciting array of garden tools, herbs and much more for the garden and outdoors.

Once you have shopped through the street, you can stop by Galleri Liisberg and look at art, and enjoy a cold beer or a cup of coffee in the café. Gallery Liisberg is a modern and international art gallery, which shows recognized Danish and international art, in addition to Annette Liisberg's own works, paintings and upcycled tables.
