City tour on tuesdays - Gunpowder plant area 2021 | History and Diversity

The gunpowder factory, which was once a dangerous workplace and was located as a large closed and militarily guarded area in the city, today constitutes an open, recreational and versatile district in Frederiksværk.

The gunpowder plant area is characterized both by its special structure and the many well-preserved historic buildings, where cultural, artistic and association life thrives side by side with a number of different business enterprises.

In recent years, the focus has been sharpened on the area's qualities, thanks in part to the urban renewal project "Stålsat By".

The evening's city walk focuses on today's diversity in the old factory area and leads the participants around to the lesser-known nooks and crannies in the Ågalleriet and several other houses.
