Hiking and Boating with "Frederikke" - The story of the canal in Frederiksværk

Take a Sunday excursion on Denmark's largest lake Arresø. Get an insight into the canal's history and significance for the city on the walk from the centre of the city, along a wide path through the forest and out to the port of call for the tour boat M / S Frederikke.

Thanks to a collaboration between the tour boat M / S Frederikke and Industrimuseet Frederiks Værk, it is possible to start a pleasant Sunday excursion on Arresø onboard M/S "Frederikke" with a guided tour from Frederiksværk and out to the boat's port of call.

The walk goes through the forest along the beautiful path along the canal. Along the way, the story is told about the actual excavation of the canal and its vital significance for Frederiksværk through time.

Other topics include the bridge and the ladder, Agatsliberiet, Major General Classen's role as a planter, as well as Arresødal Castle, which he had built in the 1780s. The actual sailing trip on Denmark's largest lake lasts approx. 1 hour and offers both natural and cultural experiences.
