Hiking and Boating with "Frederikke" - The story of the canal in Frederiksværk

Join us on a Sunday excursion to Denmark's largest lake, Arresø. Gain insight into the history and significance of the canal as you walk from the city center along the wide river path through the forest to the docking point for the boat, M/S Frederikke.

Embark on this pleasant Sunday outing, featuring a guided walk and a boat trip on Arresø aboard M/S "Frederikke."

The afternoon begins in front of 'Palæet' at the Industrial Museum Frederiks Værk, and from there, we walk together through the forest along the beautiful path by the canal. Along the way, we share the story of the canal's excavation and its crucial importance to Frederiksværk over time, covering topics such as Agatsliberiet, general Classen's role as a planter, and the history of Arresødal Slot, which he had built in the 1780s.
